Nuovo Eve
A regular visitor to the farmers markets and thrift stores, Eve is always looking for a find. Whether it’s through the locally produced foods that occupy her refrigerator or the one-of-a-kind Danish dresser that adorns her dining area, Eve has a clear view on what is worth spending money on. She’s the kind of girl that when not searching for treasures, can be found repurposing and reinventing things in her own quirky way. The plain Joe Fresh t-shirt that was transformed with the remnants of a broken necklace or the rainboot that found itself serving as a plant pot to sunflowers on her balcony, almost everything in her place seems to have had the Eve treatment.
Nuovo Alfred
Having studied at design school, Alfred went on to specialize in industrial design. He hasn’t got particularly expensive tastes but he knows what he likes... and it’s usually something you haven’t seen before. It’s not that his style is groundbreaking or incredibly underground, it’s just that he goes further than most in exploration of ways to express his style. He will check out every new restaurant that peaks his interest and he will dress himself in clothes not unlike those you have seen before but almost always with a little twist of the unfamiliar, often explained by a tale of a vacation in Hong Kong or a meandering internet journey. Alfred is the kind of guy that you can rely on to regularly post a music video to his facebook wall that although outside your usual style, you always appreciate pressing play.

Nuovo Mike + Vyvan
Like any couple, Mike & Vy-Van have learned to compromise in certain situations. Mike will put his earphones in while preparing dinner so that Vy-Van can continue to read. She will be the one who picks up birthday gifts for his family, while he will be the one that remembers to put out the trash on a Tuesday. The iPad that they share will spend as much time streaming episodes of Vy-Van’s favourite TV shows as it will updating the hockey scores or playing Mike’s vast music collection. They are different and always have been, but together they are better. They don’t sacrifice their qualities, their preferences or their styles... they find a way in which to marry them, in a way that protects their individuality yet compliments them both.

Ottawa photographer Justin Van Leeuwen leads a photowalk through Domicile Development's newest newest neighbourhood; Beechwood Village. The walk took participants through some of most beautiful corners of this community and urged people to capture the essence of the neighbourhood from their own point of view.
